BoxScout pulls live box score data directly from ESPN's public API — no API key or account required. Once a game is fetched, we extract team stats, player stats, and game flow data, then send it to an AI model that writes a full narrative recap: a headline, a story-arc summary, and the key performers. The whole process takes under 20 seconds per game. When it's done, you can copy the recap, download it as HTML, or paste it as plain text into any publishing tool.
Right now: NBA, NFL, MLB, and NCAA College Football. More leagues are on the roadmap. If your sport isn't listed, let us know — creator demand drives what gets prioritized.
Two ways: automated and on-demand. The daily cron runs at 6AM ET every morning and auto-generates recaps for overnight games — so they're ready when you open the app. If you want the latest scores right now, click "Fetch Latest" in the dashboard to trigger an immediate ingest + recap for all active leagues.
Yes — all tiers support editing. The AI writes the first draft. You own it from there. Copy it into your newsletter tool, paste into a Google Doc, or edit the exported HTML directly. BoxScout doesn't lock you into any editor or publishing workflow.
Yes. No credit card required. The Free tier gives you 10 recaps per month, full access to all supported leagues, AI headlines + narratives, and key performer data. It's not a trial — it stays free. When you outgrow 10 recaps/month or want newsletter export and bulk digest generation, you can upgrade to Pro.
Three tiers: Free ($0/mo), Pro ($29/mo), and Team ($79/mo). Full pricing details and feature breakdowns are on the pricing page.
On the Free tier, each AI-generated game recap uses 1 credit. You get 10 credits per month, which resets at the start of each billing period. Pro and Team plans have unlimited recaps — no credits, no limits.
No contracts. Cancel any time from your account settings. If you cancel mid-month, you keep access through the end of the current billing period. No questions, no retention loops, no hidden fees.
PWA stands for Progressive Web App. It's a web app that installs directly to your home screen or desktop — no App Store, no Google Play. It opens full-screen, loads fast (even offline), and feels like a native app. BoxScout works as a PWA on Android, iOS, and desktop Chrome/Edge.
Install depends on your platform:
- Android (Chrome): Open BoxScout in Chrome → tap the banner that says "Add to Home Screen," or tap the three-dot menu → "Add to Home screen."
- iOS (Safari): Open BoxScout in Safari → tap the Share button (box with arrow) → "Add to Home Screen."
- Desktop (Chrome/Edge): Look for the install icon (⊕) in the address bar, or open the browser menu → "Install BoxScout."
Yes. Your generated recaps and account data are private to your account. We don't sell your data or share it with third parties. Game data sourced from ESPN is publicly available — we just surface it faster and turn it into narrative content for you.
